ABOUT SIC
WHAT WE DO
We aim to harness our knowledge and skills as Penn students to be socially impactful in the greater community. We aim to do so in two main ways:
-
By helping socially-responsible enterprises and non-profit organizations through their toughest challenges to best achieve their goals and missions.
-
By providing Penn undergraduate students with an opportunity to utilize what they have learned in the classroom by applying it in real-life, highly impactful scenarios.
OUR HISTORY
2007 - Present
The Social Impact Consulting Group was founded by a group of five Wharton juniors in Fall 2007. Based on a dream to create a student-run, student-lead club that would represent a marriage between student development and learning and giving back to the community, the Social Impact Consulting Group was created. After a successful inaugural project, four other projects were launched. Today, we run six projects every semester. Our staggering growth is entirely based on the word-of-mouth and strong reputation we have built within the community.
Our mission is to provide undergraduate students with an opportunity to utilize what they have learned in the classroom and apply it in a manner that creates the greatest amount of social impact in the community.
Our core strength is our passion for making a tangible impact on local organizations and the community. Additionally, our members and leaders have a variety of specialized skills – ranging from marketing to financial modeling – and have worked with a diverse set of clients in the past, allowing us to address all of our clients’ specific needs. Finally, our members have access to the highest quality professional and academic resources through the Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania, and our partnerships with professionals in consulting, finance, and other industries.
